HOLLYWOOD PALLADIUM - "My name is Beck, the artist currently known as Beck," the five-time Grammy Award Winner said as he addressed the sold out Hollywood Palladium on Friday night. Beck performed as part of the newly unveiled Citi Sound Vault concert series which aims to bring world class entertainment exclusively to Citi cardholders during the most exciting week in the music industry. Other acts part of this year's lineup include Sting, The Chainsmokers, and Metallica.
Beck got the 3,700 fans going by starting the concert with "Devil's Haircut" followed by "Loser" and shortly after "The New Pollution." He would later introduce a full choir to accompany him throughout most of the show. After a quick wardrobe change, a medley of dance songs emerged as Beck introduced his band, including Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean," Prince's "1999" and even a Michael McDonald track. Absent from the set was 2015's "Dreams" because they didn't get a chance to rehearse the song with the choir, but he did play his 2016 single "Wow." After a brief break, Beck performed "Paper Tiger" and closed the concert with "Where It's At."
